When using a plunger to clear the waste pipe for a bath or sink, cover the overflow with a wet cloth to help build the pressure and so substantially increase the effectiveness of the plunger's action.
If fitting mirror tiles, do not stick them directly to the wall as an uneven wall will distort the reflection. Instead, ensure a flat surface by first fixing a piece of plywood to the wall, that is smaller then the entire mirrored area, then stick the tile to the board you have made.
You can better utilise blank wall space in a bathroom by making a shelf of MDF which can be used to stack towels, etc.
To unclog a showerhead, leave it overnight in a sealed plastic bag with a sufficient depth of vinegar in the bag to cover the showerhead. This has both a cleaning and descaling effect, and if not successful first time, should be repeated.
Vinegar is a very useful cleaner in a bathroom, and is best applied with an old toothbrush for applying pressure in difficult areas. Bicarbonate of soda can be used to clean stained tile grout on a toothbrush.
